My good friends Rick and Fran were kind enough to invite me to partake in a feast of Maine Lobster that had just been imported from… well Maine!

At first I was at a loss at what to bring to contribute until I realized that what pairs better with lobster than more meat?  I procured a ribeye steak from the local market to add to our crustaceans, and our surf and turf was well on its way.

We had our land animal and our sea animal, but now the only thing we were missing was a member of the winged family.  That’s where Eberle (the winery) saved the day with their fabulous duck sausage.  Fry it up, steam it (and its oils) with some broccoli and voila! An unprecedented side dish completed the triforce of meat groups.

With the meat compliments decided, triforce of meat groups completed, and the lobsters’ jet lag finally boiled away, we were ready to enjoy one fantastic meal!  After some shenanigans, anyway…

At long last the Maine Lobster, California Cow, and Paso Duck met for the first time in a wondrous display of meat and satisfied taste buds!
